Our Story

The Garage Sale Depot is the brainchild of physician-turned business entrepreneur, Ben Patipa. His inspiration came from his father, who more than 40 years ago pioneered one of the nation's frst discount men's clothing "retail-warehouse" stores, eventually becoming the model for today's Syms and Men's Warehouse chains. In that same spirit, Ben wanted to leave a legacy for his own children and generations to come.

Recognizing in today's economy, or any economy, that consumers need more options to soothe their wallets, Ben conceived The Garage Sale Depot - an innovative warehouse concept combining the highest quality Thrift, Consignment and Resale merchandise at low prices in a family-friendly environment. It's like the Largest Garage Sale Under One Roof! Taking it one step further, he added the ability to pick up merchandise free from peoples' homes or offices as donations to help fight cancer or on consignment for cash, giving consumers yet another beneft to their pocketbooks. In addition, The Garage Sale Depot supports the mission of the American Heart Association.

Our first store, located in West Palm Beach, is only the beginning. The vision for this unique concept is a nationwide expansion plan... so that budget-conscious consumers across the country can enjoy all The Garage Sale Depot has to offer.
